Currently there are five cards under restoration:

  • 1960 Goggomobil Carry All Van

  • 1959 Goggomobil Sedan

  • 1959 Goggomobil Cabriolet

  • 1948 Fiat Topolino, Type B

  • 1938 Fiat Topolino, Type A

The 1959 Goggomobil Sedan will be on the road shortly. The body has been painted in aqua with a white roof.

Only 1700 Goggomobils were manufactured in Australia under licence by Bill Buckle at Bonds Road , Punchbowl. The Chassis and running gear were supplied by Hans Glas, Dingolfing , Germany and the bodies were manufactured from fibre glass at the Punchbowl plant. German home market models were full metal bodies. The most popular model, even today, is the Dart which was designed and built in Austrlia. It is a tiny sports car, with no doors, so one climbs over the sides. Even today, over 40 years later it is still a beautiful car due to the timeless styling of its smooth flowing lines.

Goggomobils were made famous in the Yellow Pages television advertising and most Australians still refer to them (incorrectly) as Go Go Mobiles.

Goggos were in production from 1959 to 1961. The introduction of the Morris Mini was the death knell for Goggos and other micro cars as the Mini was a “proper” car and was only slightly dearer.
